<p><strong>Summary of Position</strong></p>
<p>The Web Developer / Web Software Engineer position at WillCo Technologies is asked to conceptualize, plan, build, test, refactor, test, debug, and launch fully function software systems based on customer requirements. This position is will work within a team of other experienced programmers, engineers, and software developers, and will be supervised by a web development manager, whom will assign tasks that will need to be completed within a given timeframe.</p>
<p><strong>Primary Position Functions</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Write and test PHP code</li>
<li>Design user interfaces and write relevant HTML, CSS,      and Javascript</li>
<li>Design and implement reusable code architecture</li>
<li>Work with and analyze time-saving PHP Frameworks, code      libraries, and tools</li>
<li>Deliver fully functional applications and projects on      time</li>
<li>Present your code and demonstrate your completed tasks      in front of your peers</li>
<li>Participate in code reviews</li>
<li>Participate in creation of time estimates for projects</li>
<li>Participate in helping and training other developers on      staff</li>
<li>Help team members and other staff members solve      difficult problems</li>
<li>Troubleshoot desktop and server issues, especially in      relation to software in both Linux and Windows environments</li>
<li>Participate in testing software that others developers      have completed</li>
<li>Follow in-house processes and procedures for creating,      testing, and launching products</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Education and Qualifications</strong></p>
<p>In addition to be able to perform each of the above position functions satisfactorily, candidates will only be considered for this position if the meet the following qualification requirements:</p>
<ul>
<li>At least three (3) years of full time programming in      PHP</li>
<li>At least seven (7) years of programming experience</li>
<li>At least five (5) years of experience with SQL</li>
<li>Previous history of writing software applications from      scratch</li>
<li>Previous history of working with frameworks and      pre-written libraries</li>
<li>Strong understanding of object oriented programming and      techniques, development methodologies, SQL, relational databases, web      services, and similar web-oriented technologies.</li>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;">PHP Programmer:</span></strong><strong> </strong></p>
<p>The Programmer will be responsible for taking on new software development projects and maintaining current applications, which include a wide range of software from Web 2.0 small business applications to applications in use by the Department of Defense. The Programmer will be working with a team of other developers, but should feel comfortable taking a lead role on some projects, which will include being responsible for all stages of the software development life cycle.  For this position, the Programmer should be familiar with all pieces of a LAMP configuration.  Day-to-day tasks will involve a heavy amount of programming and planning.  Neither system administration or database administration will be the primary role, but the Programmer should be capable of handling tasks in those areas at a medium to high level of difficulty.  Other duties may or may not include local computer support, telephone technical support, and local printer support.</p>
<p>The position requires a sound knowledge of building custom applications using PHP on a LAMP platform.  Other skills include a thorough understanding of and experience with SQL, JavaScript, HTML, XML and Web Services.  Proficiency with a variety of operating systems, including Windows and Linux is expected.  An understanding of quality user interface design as well as architectural application design (software engineering) is also expected.  The Programmer also must have the ability to communicate ideas and complex technical subjects in layman terms.</p>
<p>Applicant must have a minimum of 4 years experience as a programmer and least 3 – 4 years of experience with the PHP programming language.  Excellent oral and written communication skills are a required.  Good customer service skills are a plus.  Applicant should be a self starter with a strong work ethic and willingness to always continue learning.</p>

<p>The Web Development Manager manages the resources and processes involved with creating WillCo Technologies Inc. software systems. This position is expected to directly supervise a programming staff, create processes and procedures for the programming staff, and ensure the correct use of those processes while completing required software development projects within required time constraints.</p>
<p><strong>Primary Position Functions</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Evaluates, manages, and controls the resources within      the web development department including the staff and tools required to      complete objectives</li>
<li>Schedules staff to work on and deliver projects on time      and within budget</li>
<li>Manages web development resources available through      outsourcing (when needed)</li>
<li>Cooperates with other departments and project managers      to determine deliverables, timeframes, and milestones</li>
<li>Participates in design review, and testing to a level      necessary to ensure quality of product delivered to customers. Design      review includes both the code architecture for efficient maintenance and      the customer facing design for efficient usability.</li>
<li>Participates in career development of staff through      coaching, reviewing, and training</li>
<li>Seeks learning opportunities and recommends/assigns these      opportunities to staff</li>
<li>Works with staff to provide and deliver estimates      (time, materials) for development of products for customers as well as      in-house projects. Participates in creation of quotes for customers based      on project estimates.</li>
<li>Interview, hire, and train new programmers and      developers as needed to keep up with a growing company</li>
<li>Help programmers solve difficult problems that arise in      development and maintenance, which will sometimes require a deep      understanding of web software and database software.</li>
</ul>
<p>This above is not a complete list, and the development manager may be asked to carry out other duties as they are needed.</p>
<p><strong>Education and Qualifications</strong></p>
<p>To perform this position successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. In addition, only candidates meeting at least the following qualifications will be considered:</p>
<ul>
<li>At least two (2) years management experience</li>
<li>At least two (2) years of programming experience</li>
<li>Experience with web development and/or software      development processes and practices.</li>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Governor Jay Nixon visited WillCo Technologies on March 22nd to announce that Missouri’s application for $26.9 million in funding through the State Small Business Credit (SSBCI) had been approved.  Of the $26.9 million, $16.9 million will be used to fund the high-tech Missouri IDEA (Innovation, Development, and Entrepreneurial Advancement) Seed and Venture Capital Funds.  The remaining $10 million will be used towards the Grow Missouri Loan Participation Fund.   The goals of SSBCI funds are to stimulate small business growth and job creation in the State of Missouri.</p>

<p>WillCo’s De Barker recently received the prestigious <em>First Ladies of Kansas City</em> award.   <em>First Ladies of Kansas City</em> is an award given to a Kansas City woman who has made outstanding contributions to the community and to her family.  The winner of this award is a woman who has  consistently served the needs of others while frequently going unnoticed herself.    This award honors the women of the Kansas City community who have given to many, but who have been served by few.   The City of Kansas City honored Ms. Barker for her outstanding contributions to her community through the art of dance and dedication and love for her community.   Kansas City’s Mayor Mark Funkhouser and the City Council presented Ms. Barker with her award on January 6, 2011.</p>

Recipients are  judged on the company’s ability to  overcome obstacles and adversity, community  involvement, defining  characteristics and company vision. WillCo will be  honored with the  award at a gala celebration held on February 27, 2010 at the  Downtown  Marriott.</p>
